1st Trimester

OK...off I go!

So...I've been working out regularly for over 6 years, and I"m now heading off to my first spin class since finding out I was pg...and I'm nervous!! Geez...this is a class I've been doing 3 times a week for the past year and a half, but NOW I'm scared! What if I hurt the baby? What if I cause a M/C? I know I'm crazy; I'm just going to pay attention to my body, keep the tension on the bike a bit lower than I usually do, and stop if I need to...staying active during pregnancy is important...but I'm just paranoid about it!

Call me crazy!! But I'm sure some of you have been through this before!

Re: OK...off I go!

  • Honestly, I am very active too I even part time as a fitness instructor and I have majorly curtailed my w/o for now.  I maybe go to the gym at the most 3x's a week- I am paying very close attention to my body and not wanting to over exert at all.  I keep my h/r at a steady pace not letting above 155-160.  2nd tri I am planning to get right back into teaching classes again.  The first few weeks are just so delicate- I didn't want to have any regrets.

  • I did a spin class last night.

Def. kept the tension down a bit.  I paid attention to if I could talk while doing it ~ and I drank lots & lots of water.  Took 2 bottles.  (didn't hurt it was one of the easier instructors!)

I asked one of the instructors I trust - she recommended - keep the tension a bit lower than everyone, don't do the sprints, be careful with jumps ~

    GL!

  • I don't have any advice about your question, but I didn't realize we had new ladies due in September already! Wow. Congrats on your BFP!
