DH has a Corolla and I have discovered that nothing "fits" really well. You have to pull the seat really far forward for them to fit right. I would suggest going to BRU (or someplace that allows it) and try out some of the seats in your car before deciding.
A few weeks ago some lady hit me ( I have a Toyota Camry) and we opted to have a Corolla for our rent car. Why? Because my husband thought he might want one since they are cheap and two b/c we did not know if the ladies insurance would cover our rental and we did not want to be out of pocket too much.
Anyways, we made a trip to Houston in that Corolla and our convertible carseat (SunShine Kids Radian XT) and it was no fun, no space. So that is one carseat that I would not get with that car. Love the carseat just not in that car. We also have a Myride which we did not try out in the car so I can not say much about it in that way, but we also love the carseat.
The MyRide is wider than the Radian so I am going to say that if you have that in the Corolla anyone who sits in the back is not going to have a lot of space. Length wise though I think it might fit better. With the Radian I have to move the passager and driver seat up. I just ended up riding in the back with DS but Dh had to drive which he hated.
How old is the corolla? Any newer model one will fit any carseat.
I was going to add off this from my post below. This Corolla rental was brand new 09 model and it did not fit our carseat well at all. Sure it fit but you were kissing the dash board as well.
I think it's all relative to how it's installed. I don't love installation in toyotas, though--they don't allow for rearfacing seats to be installed upright because of the big dip in the back.
The myride, evenflo triumph advance, britax marathon or boulevard, or combi coccoro would be good options. The myride will last the longest rear facing but should fit nicely, so that would be my first choice. I would not go with the graco comfortsport or britax roundabout/diplomat. It makes it nice that it's small, but they will not last long enough rear facing.

This fits amazing in my 2007 corolla. We have a larger seat in the Suburban.
