Re: High Risk Check-In
What are you in for?
History of stillbirth, underlying neuromuscular condition I've had for years.
Any updates or appts. this week?
Got to have a growth scan ultrasound which was great! We got some 3D pics and I loved seeing baby's face! Definitely makes things very real!
Any questions or tips for other moms in this check-in?
Has your doctor talked induction yet? When I was pregnant with the twins, they told me they'd induce at 38 weeks if I made it that far. I never thought I would, but I did! Ended up with an induction. This time doc is talking induction at 39 weeks if I make it that far. What's your doctor said?
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far?
I'm excited to use my sling, it is a Baby K'tan and I've been practicing with it with my daughter's baby dolls haha! I think it will be great and I can't wait to try it out with this little one!
What are you in for? Short/funneling cervix, irritable uterus
Any updates or appts. this week? Just my weekly appt with my OB. No more MFM appts/ultrasounds since things have been stable. Yay!
Any questions or tips for other moms in this check-in? Other moms on bed rest: How are you dealing with the urge to nest? I seriously am going crazy laying in bed all day when all I want to do is go in the next room and set up the nursery.
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far? We bought an adorable white wicker dresser in Cape May to use for her changing table. It had these cheap plastic knobs on the drawers, so I switched them out for some vintage-looking glass ones. I love how it looks now.

What are you in for?: Preexisting diabetes.
Any updates or appts. this week?: I have a Sweet Success (the diabetes program my medical group has. I see a dietician, a nurse practitioner, and a social worker) appointment tomorrow. I really hate these appointments, since I have to submit my blood sugars weekly, and they call me to talk about them every week. My numbers look "great", so these appointments basically just reiterate that. And the social worker is, for lack of a better term, DUMB. At one of my previous appointments, I told her my stress levels were way down now that I was used to the new diet, and she then spent 15 minutes Googling "stress relief". WTF?! Anyway, sorry, mini rant over. Next week I'll have a check up with my OB and we'll set up my NSTs.
Any questions or tips for other moms in this check-in?: Nothing is coming to mind right now, haha. As far as the induction question... I know I'll be induced at 38-39 weeks, but a c-section might be in the cards for me.
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far?: Mostly just clothes for now, haha. Can't wait for my shower next weekend!

BFP #2: 8/2/12; Due date: 4/14/13, DD born 4/5/2013
BFP #3: 11/2/14, Due date: 7/7/15
What are you in for? APS, Lyme/fibromyalgia, GD, and now oligohydramnios (basically i clot too easily and my placenta hates me)
Any updates or appts. this week? officially on the twice a week track with the perinats for GD and oligo checks, and once a week with the OB. Currently doing the bed-rest thing to see if the oligo reverses.
Any questions or tips for other moms in this check-in? Docs have been talking about inducing at 39wks all along, simply because of all my fun issues. With the new dx of oligo, now that might get pushed up even earlier and force the issue of a c/s. My child-birthing instructor keeps reminding me that I still have the power to say 'no' but if it's what healthiest for the baby, I feel selfish even considering being stubborn.
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far? Most of what we have are hand-me-downs from nephews and friends' babies, so the few purchases I've actually picked out I'm giddy about--particularly a little monkey/blankie and the new flooring we put in (primary colored foam squares). The nursery looks so darling!
What are you in for? Twins, GD, irritable ute, slightly shortened cervis
Any updates or appts. this week? Just got back from my first NST and a growth scan. Both babies passed the NST and are growing nice. Alexa is 3 lb 11 oz and Logan is 3 lb 5 oz. My MFM says that we don't need to check my cervix anymore! Yay! Of course, now that I'm able to do a little more stuff, it hurts soooo much to walk that I just want to lie in bed.
Any questions or tips for other moms in this check-in? In regards to induction, my OB said we're going to schedule a C-section for 37-38 weeks if I don't go into labor spontaneously. Baby A is breech, so vaginal delivery is out.
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far? I got them the fuzziest, softest blankets ever (not for the crib). I also love buying fancy clothes for all the weddings we have this year!

Any updates or appts this week?
Just got back today from several. Ultrasound looked good, showing baby at 4lbs 8ozs at 30 weeks 2days. C-section is scheduled for 36 weeks. Only 5 and half more weeks, oh my goodness!
Any questions or tips for any other moms this check in?
Anyone else have babies measuring this big at this age so far?
What is your favorite baby-related purchase/acquisition so far?
I just ordered our 'lite' pack n play that is going to be LOs bed through the end of summer since we are going to move twice, once when LO is about 9 weeks old and again at 5 months. So stressed about that but excited to get to see family this summer in between moves.
I had my first one yesterday. It went fine. One baby almost failed, but apparently she's just a procrastinator and pulled it out in the last five minutes. Bring something to read!
