I'm not sure how many others are dealing with Plagiocephaly, Brachycephaly (what my DS has) or Scaphocephaly but my son is and he got a DOC Band today. He's 4.25 months so the expected timeframe for him to wear it is 3 months.
Three months seems so long, considering he's only 4 months old, but I'm doing what's best for my baby and am proud of how well he's doing today.

I'm going to decorate tonight when he's sleeping. Due to his type of helmet (brachy band) the orthotists at Cranial Technologies didn't want him sleeping in it tonight.
Re: AW: My Sweet Boy in His Helmet
Aww, he looks so cute in it! Doesn't look like it bothers him at all!
How do you plan to decorate it?
They are thinking DD might have Brachycephaly as well
I must say, he's quite the looker in that helmet!
Thanks, ladies! I'm going to temporarily decorate with Tigger stickers but am thinking of ordering a custom design from blingyourband.com if my DH can agree on one. I just don't want it to be such a sterile white.
DS also has Torticollis (neck muscle condition) which attributed to the flattening in back. But he's been in physical therapy for 2 months and is doing really well.

Aww, what a cute little guy! Does he have to wear it all the time except for sleeping?
He looks darling! I'm sure the 3 months will fly by.
We are in physical therapy for torticollis too.

Allergic to Peas...so far
He has to wear it 23 hours a day. It's only off for his bath and for PT exercises at each diaper change during the day.
And thanks again. I'm blessed to have this good-natured little boy.

he's precious!
FYI, my DS 1 wore a helmet for plagio at 6 months. He had a severe case and we were told he would wear it 3-4 months. AS it turns out, he only needed it 7 weeks, he had a huge growth spurt and did awesome!
It was hard on me at first, but it was soo totally worth it. I love his round noggin'!!
Good luck!
