Do random people friend you on FB?

I never understand the random person I have never heard of friending me. It isn't like I have a common name and they are mistaken. It happens a lot. Do people just go around randomly friending people? Or is my memory so bad I really do know these people?

    I get this too!  DENY is what I do.

    It doesn't happen too often for me but I look at mutual friends to see if I somehow know them or at least know OF them... if not, I deny.

    I think alot of ppl request strangers for the horrid mafia wars or farmville thingy. I never allow any friends that Ive never heard of.

    i'm sure some people do.

    although, i have forgotten people and went to their page and found out we went to high school together, gotten out the yearbook, and had a "ah ha" moment.

    i don't want to be that miserable wench,  so i friend them.  i never get on though, so i guess it isn't that big of a deal.

    to me, there is too much personal information on facebook to friend randoms.  it isn't myspace after all. Stick out tongue

    I just friended someone from high school who denied my request b/c I requested  them under my husband's account (I don't have one set up).  Maybe it's the same situation happening to you?  I wish there was a way to have two names on the same account.  It's enough maintenance to keep up with photos without having to do it twice.
