Ex-friend vent. Sorry it's long.

I'll try to be as concise as possible.
K was my BFF in college. Although we moved far from each other we visited 2-3 times a year and talked/e-mailed/etc. Contact waned when we each met our (now) husbands. 3 years she called b/c she was pg, getting married in 10 weeks and my bridesmaid dress was in the mail. I flew out, stood up in her wedding and did as much BM stuff as I could. She had her baby and I sent gifts and cards and tried to keep in touch as much as possible. She barely corresponded with me, which I figured was due to the new baby.
2 years later, I was engaged. I still considered her a friend and asked her to be a BM. She accepted and I told her that I'd be buying their dresses and to pick one out. She was pg again and wanted a $400 maternity dress. I offered to send her $175-200 which was what I was spending on the other girls. She said no, she'd buy it. 3 weeks before the wedding she called and said that she didn't buy the dress b/c money was tight and could I buy it for her? I said no, I still couldn't afford it but that I'd still spend the $200 on a different dress. She didn't pick a dress until the week of the wedding so they were out of her size & had to go a size up. Day of the wedding she complained that she'd had to pay for alterations since I ordered the wrong size and left the reception after an 30 minutes. I haven't heard from her since and pretty much washed my hands of the situation.
Cut to last night, I was at my mother's house and saw that she'd sent a Christmas card to my mom and not me for the second year in a row. I don't really care if she doesn't want to be friends with me anymore, but don't send a Christmas card to my family. It's mean and passive aggressive and just really hurt my feelings. If that's lame, go ahead and flame me, but I needed to vent.

i don't think that is lame at ALL. I have had basically the same situation with one of my 'old' friends. it sucks, and i wish i didn't get worked up over it but i do.
Looking back, yes, she probably was. I don't think I realized it at the time though...I figured we were all kind of selfish and stupid in college.

I totally thought of doing this. Problem is, I have kept sending her cards in the vain hope that she'd pull her head out of her ass one day. There's always next year...

Wait...You send her cards every year and she doesn't send you one but sends it to your mother?? Okay that's just outright pathetic.
Send her Sympathy card for christmas next year. "I'm thinking of you and yoru pathetic life and passive agressive tendencies during this holiday season. Get well soon."

Buck: Yep. I keep sending her cards and she keeps being a snatch. DH said I should take the card from my mom's house and send it back. LOL.
