so tired of the needles!

My poor arm looks purple, green, and yellow.. this is week four of needle-rama.  As of last Friday my levels were around 30.  Please please please let today be the last time

I have my first follow up with the doc tomorrow and am pretty nervous about it.  Not sure what to expect.  I am sure that I will not like his answer as to when we can try again.

on a good note!  Hubby and I are taking off for Christmas for a week long trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley.

    I know just how you feel!  Like a human pin cushion!  My forearm just turned back to normal after all my blood work checking my betas, but I still have two holes from my IV during the d&c.  The first IV was on top of my right hand and the second (which they had to do b/c the first fell out) was on my left wrist. This one hurts so bad b/c my watch rubs against it.  I actually told the anastesiologist that I am a lawyer and if he stuck me one more time, I was going to sue him.  Of course I was joking, but I did say, lucky for you I handle employment cases.

    I forgot to add that the needle nurse who has been dealing with me these past weeks gave me the most sincere hug I have had in long time.  She has been there with me throught the whole bit from finding out we were expecting to this point.  She has put up with a lot from me, from sobbing to anger, to irrational behavior.. and she has always been so kind.  Today she told me she prays for me every night and understand the pain I am suffering.  It was so special to me.  God bless her and bring her son home safely!

    Glad I could make up smirk!  My mom was so embarrassed I said that and I was like, hey, why did I go through all the blood, sweat and tears of law school if I can't use the fact that I'm a lawyer to my advantage!  Although they did wait until I was knocked out to stick me again!

    That is so nice about your nurse.  It is always nice to have a caring nurse/doctor, and especially during a time like this it is SO important.  She seems like such a nice lady and I hope her son comes home safely too.

    That is so nice of her! It makes such a difference to have the right doctor/nurse.  I hope you are done with the needles soon.

    Ew, I know how you feel ~ my last appointment while the lady was taking my blood, she got distracted and looked up, naturally making the needle go further into my vein and it was so painful!  My arm looked like a truck rolled over it afterwards.  I hope your bloodwork will soon come to an end.

    I know how you feel, when I was in the hospital, they collapsed 2 veins getting the iv in and kept waking me to take blood from different parts of my arm each night.

    I completely understand.  I had a nursing student from HELL last time and she tried to find my vein in three different places before spilling my blood all over me when the tube slipped out... At that point I was like "Let's just see if we can find someone else to do this, mmmkay?"

    Have fun on your trip.  DH and I used to live just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County and we really miss those lazy, wine-hopping days.

    :( I have been getting bloodwork twice weekly for the last few months due to Leukemia... I totally feel your pain and it looks like Im a druggie with all the needle marks in my arms (not to mention the lumps from the scar tissue!)

    If you ask them to use a black needle (smaller gage) it may help!

    Good luck and have a blast in San Fran :)
