I'm super pissed off as I write this post b/c I've about had it up to here with the men in my family (FIL and DH) blaming breastfeeding for issues with LO:
He spits up too much...it must be the breastfeeding (get a clue)
He weighs too much...it must be the breastfeeding (this is just offensive...he's a freakin 16.5 lb. 4 mo. old baby, he's perfectly fine)
His dry skin problems stem from something in your breastmilk (really???)
It almost makes me want to switch exclusively to formula (we supplement at times now), to prove them wrong. I don't even want to go home and face DH b/c I might lose my sh*t...way to make me feel like my body doing something wrong or producing something toxic (which I obviously know isn't the case).
Re: Blame it on Breastfeeding
1. Every baby spits up.
2. He doesn't look chunky!
3. I've heard being a fvck face can cause dry skin too. Maybe that'll shut them up.
I would give both of them a swift punch in the face followed by a kick in the a$$. Why are they so against you BF? Douchebags! Tell them to
I def. would not switch to formula to prove them wrong b/c they'll just think of something else to gripe about.
Ugh! I have heard these things too! Ticks me off! Everyone knows everything and we are doing everything wrong.
Newsflash: At one time, there was no such thing as formula and guess what??? Humanity is still around..I know, weird huh?
And, hello! BFing is the most natural thing and it is made just for your baby, don't listen to them...effing experts with their expert opinions!
