3rd Trimester

What did you...

have done by 35 weeks?

I am going to force myself to nest today. (wish me luck!) I have not had the urge to do this at all. I have bought most of the things LO will need but nothing is washed. LO will be rooming with DH and I, so I want to deep clean the room before she arrives. Hospital bag not packed. There are a few last minute things I need to buy but if I don't get to it no biggie. I'm so behind I know!

I'm freaking out because my doc said to start getting things ready just in case because she thinks LO will be a week or (at the most) two early (this is my second child). So I don't have as much time as I thought. I mean LO may come on time but it would suck if she does arrive a couple weeks early and I am not prepared. It just feels so early still. I guess I do have to account for the fact that right now I'm still working and getting things ready for Christmas so it's not like I have everyday to do a little something. When I get a day off from everything else I need to be doing baby stuff, when really I want to just lay around.

Well wish me luck, cause I don't even know where I should start! Just wondering if I'm alone...

Re: What did you...

  • I had nothing done at 35 weeks, I started about 37/38 weeks, and now at 39 weeks, I JUST finished the last little stuff up. I didn't get the nesting urge until about 38 weeks...

But I had no reason to think I'd go early either. If I did, I'd at least get the bags packed...

  • I just started getting things ready around 35 weeks. I was in such a hurry to get things done early in case he came early, which means I have now cursed myself and I will likely go to 42 weeks. Arg.

  • Have the baby's room done and stuff from the shower, that's about it.  My DH is the one that is starting to freak out and getting on me about packing my hospital bag.  He came to the realization this weekend that we are about a month away from being parents.
  • I am just starting to get some things done.  DH finally moved the computer out of the baby's room so now we need to go pick up the dresser.  Once I have that I am going to town on washing everything and getting it put away.  We just bought our crib mattress and a bunch of other misc stuff this weekend and that all needs to get organized and put away.

I couldn't get comfortable last night so I was on the bump. My DH happened to see the check list thingy, and now he's all freakin out that I haven't packed a bag or installed the car seat etc.. and I think his freaking out rubbed off. He was at the appointment when the doc predicted an early appearance so I don't think that helped.

So if I get nothing done today I'll pack my bag! I'd be surprised if i get that done...lol.

  • I'm about where you are and I just had a panic moment and realized I have NOTHING pulled together.  This is my second as well and I won't be allowed to go past 39 weeks (pelvic rotation).  All of my family is coming here for Christmas so I've been completely focused on that.  I just got a baby book today.  My mom is coming on Wednesday, so I'm counting on her to help me get a lot done in the next couple weeks.

It feels early still don't it? But when you look at a calendar and take off a week or two from your due date panic sets in. I blame the holidays! Glad I'm not alone, but I guess we better get moving ( I say this as I am still on the bump!).
