No idea... I heard it as a joke once - when the girl gained a lot of weight in her hips and butt. LOL. Never heard it after that, and it wasn't said seriously to her.
What I always thought when my mother said carry in the back... is that the baby is toward the back of the uterus....My mom didn't get a hugh tummy but got a really big backside. She also said that I kicked her in the tail bone a lot....She didn't have a lot of movement in the front, therefore she never saw a foot kick out of her tummy or anything like that....
