Talk to me about: Whiskey

My step-FIL said he wants some "sippin' whiskey".  Please define this for me as I had a bad high school experience with whiskey and refuse to drink it now.  TIA.

    It means higher end, not to mix whiskey.  My dad likes Crown Royal.

    ETA:  Even though my dad isn't really a whiskey guy.  And DH likes to mix Crown 7s.

    honestly all I know about it is that FIL drinks Johnny Walker black label. I have no idea if there are better ones out there or not because I also don't drink whiskey. I'd probably go to the liqour store and ask someone who is working there.

    Johnny Walker is a Scotch, which is a type of Whiskey, but a Scotch nonetheless.

    ahhh ok - shows you how much I pay attention to liqour lol. I really don't drink any liquor except the occasional fruity martini when we're out - I'm a beer/wine girl when I can drink.

    Mkay, good to know.  Now for my follow-up question:  Is there any way to take a 5 1/2 year old into a liquor store without looking trashy? Stick out tongue

    I took my baby in to one once. 

    The guys were cool- they ended up carrying the wine out to the car for me.
