Review of the New Babyhawk "Oh Snap"

I just saw this review of the new Oh Snap on TBW and thought I'd pass it along since it's another good option for folks interested in buckle carriers: https://www.thebabywearer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=371520 - you'll need to login to see it.

It looks like it will be best for bigger babies and toddlers - the mama who wrote this said it worked better than the ergo for toddlers as it comes up higher on their shoulders.

I love the customization options for babyhawks and they are easier to find than some other carriers - so easier to recommend to people who aren't interested in doing a ton of research.

Has anyone here tried one?

  • Thanks for posting this! I'm in the market for a SSC, but am having a difficult time finding one that I think would fit me correctly, including this one. I'm average height, but I have a really slim build & I think that most of the ones I've seen wouldn't be tight enough around my waist. Any ideas?

    TIA!

You might want to look on TBW FSOT for a petite carrier.  What I've learned in lurking is that petite carriers just fit smaller mamas better, even if they are average height.  They cinch down smaller. Offhand I can't think of any specific brands but I know some makers do them regularly or as customs.  I have a Bamberoo SSC which I love, I also hear a lot about Dream Carriers and KTs.  GL!

I know little about SSC but you might have luck getting a custom one made.  Or how do you feel about mei tais?  With a mei tai, it would be easy to get the right waist size since it ties instead of buckling.

  • Thanks ladies! You are so helpful! I didn't meant to hijack this post!

I have a Mei Tai and I love it, but I'd like to have something that maybe I can get on and off a little faster....especially for a back carry. Also, I'd like to be able to share it with my husband and he's a big guy, so I'd probably need something with an extender. I think a SSC is probably the only kind of carrier he would use. He, of course, liked the Bjorn (what is it with men and buckles?) and never used the Moby even though he thought he would. He just didn't have the patience to get it wrapped. The Mei Tai doesn't fit him and neither does the ring sling.I think he things the ring slings are too feminine looking anyway, plus mine's bright yellow. I look like the Dalai Lama when I have it on! =) So, I think it's time to move on to another carrier. Help!
