Babies: 9 - 12 Months

When did your baby drop down to only 3 bottles/nursing sessions?

I EBF and we just dropped down to 4 sessions per day and she eats solids 2-3 times a day. I feel like she can go a long time between nursing sessions, maybe even enough to drop a session. I don't really want her to just yet but am curious when this happened for others.

  • We're still on 4 nursing sessions.  I'm going to start dropping slowly after his birthday.

  • DD still does about 5 nursing sessions a day.
  • I think 6 months is WAY too early to drop to 3 (I'd say 4 is too few) - solids are just for practice at this point; her calories should mostly be from BM until much closer to a year.

I was thinking same thing. Max still nusrsed/bottles 6 times a day at 9 months. He dropped to 5 at 10 and is at 4-5 right now.

i would agree that 4 is the bare minimum and possibly not enough... but i dont know if you're also feeding during the night, cuz that would help add some more nutrition for LO.  we dropped to 4/day around 7-8 months but i've always nursed during the night too.

i've heard that people drop to 3/day when the LO drops to just one nap a day, which is usually around a year old. but different for everyone i'm sure!
