I'm just doing some math. Math is hard.
1. When I trigger at, let's say monday 7pm in the eve.... what day would I call "1dpo" ? I'm not sure I've been labeling things correctly, and I need to count this cycle out. (I'm **edit** cd9 at the moment)
2. Also... what's the earliest day you think the RE will do a beta? I'll be heading out of town RIGHT at that 12dpo stage, and need to know without waiting for the POAS limbo crap. Plus I'll have to get my cd3 check early if it's BFN. which it won't be. but just in case.
Thanks for guessing.
Re: trigger vs. 1dpo - am I doing this right?
Ovulation usually occurs within 36 hours of trigger. So I would count Wednesday as 1 dpo.
My RE never did a beta before 14 dpo for an IUI, and 14dpt for IVF....but it seems many others are willing to do them sooner.
Good luck!!!
1) isn't ovulation supposed to occur around 24 to 36 hours after trigger? so if you trigger monday in the eve. that has you o'ing sometime between tuesday night and wednesday morning... so I'd call Thursday 1DPO.
2) dunno. make them b!tches do it whenever you want it done.
Hi Davez, not sure about #1 (the only thing I can think of is that you ovulate 24-36 hours after trigger, so 1dpo would be 24 hours past that- so Wednesday?! I could be completely off). As for #2- my RE WON'T do betas until 14dpo unless you get a BFP (which I did @13dpo and he let me come in). Otherwise I would've had to wait. GL girl!!!!
My RE would call Tuesday day 0, if that helps.... He believes that if you are ready to O, in that your eggs are good size and your E2 shows mature follies, the trigger is just boosting nature, and therefore you will O around 18-30 hours later... so roughly Tuesday at 7.
He would do a fast beta (the blood one that a drop of blood goes in plastic thingy with a window and you get a + if there is more than 10 whateverunits of HCG) as soon as 12dpo.
1) Based only on that, I'd call Wed. a.m. O time and thus Thursday 1dpo. BUT, if you're charting that might tell you otherwise, since you could easily O on Tuesday and thus Wednesday would be 1dpo.
2) My RE insisted I wait until 14dpo during Kira's BFP cycle, though I personally knew for sure 2 days earlier. I haven't made it to 14dpo since then, but I assume that would still be the case. (I ended up with cd3 b/w today rather than a beta.
) BUT, if you're going out of town, hopefully they'd do it a day or 2 earlier. The trigger will almost definitely be out of your system if that is your only hCG shot.
GOOD LUCK...no "but"s needed on that!!!
