  • For congestion - you could try using a Neti pot.
  • Neti Pot

Steamy shower (just drink lots of water and don't let your body get too hot)

    Benadryl

  • My Doctors told me any of the Tylenol products are ok to take. I had taken tylenol sore throat a couple of weeks ago when I wasn't feeling to well. I hope you feel better soon!
  • Another vote for Neti pot and breathe right strips.  When I had a cold early on and was desperate, I took one old-fashioned sudafed (doc OKd it) so that I could sleep and felt MUCH better in the morning.  If your doc is OK with that, use the psuedoephedrine version of sudafed (you have to get it behind the counter), not the -PE version (phenylephrine).  The PE version is crap and doesn't work.

  • I was also told the regular version of sudafed is ok to use. I've had a cough too, and was told Robitussen DM was fine to take. I know life's not fair, but really does a 36 week pg women who has difficulty breathing anyways really need to get a cold which makes breathing and sleeping even more difficult?!? I think not!
  • I've been told anything tylenol (as long as there's no decongestant) is OK. If you're looking for med-free relief I would try the neti pot, cutting back on dairy products, increasing fluid intake, and a vaporizer at night for congestion relief.
