3rd Trimester

frustrated with nesting instinct

So of course, now that I'm gettin' big, there are a lot of projects I want to do around the house... organizing, cleaning, etc... but i get soo tired so quickly, and I feel bad asking DH to do this and that all the time. He's helping bigtime with the baby room, which is great... After work of course, neither of us has the energy to dive into these other projects I keep thinking about! Who knows when we'll get to them... eventually, I guess!

I wish I had taken advantage of the energy I had in the 2nd tri. It was short lived! :)

  • I totally feel you! Right before I go home, I think about all the things I want to do. But once I walk into the house..I get so tired and cant wait to kick off my shoes and put sweat pants on...ahhhhhhhh....

I wouldnt worry about making him do stuff. Just imagine all the things you will have to do once the baby is here.....

Just breathe and take it one project at a time..thats what I do,.

  • I hear ya! My nesting instinct kicks in strong right before I go to bed the night before a day off. I make a nice long to do list of things I want to get done. Then I sleep in til 10 and take a 3 hour nap and ultimately accomplish nothing....

  • I think that's where my crankiness is coming from. I have major nesting needs and I just can't keep up with them. DH and I have both been gone pretty much every night of the week lately so we're not even home much. Luckily DH's classes are over for the semester and he'll have a long weekend for Christmas and taking some extra vacation time the following week too. Poor guy doesn't know what he's in for.

Mine is off too b/c we are both teachers but a least he knows what he is in for b/c I have a honey due list for him and I keep adding to the list of what we both need to get done.  I wanted to do some of it back in the 2nd tri but DH keept telling me we have plenty of time due it later and now I think he wishes that we did it back then. LOL Maybe next time he'll listen to me. Ya right Wink

  • i'm right there with you!  my list is getting longer and longer!  but the more i move around the more BH i have so i need to rest.  my poor husband.  i have a ton of things for him to do his next two weeks off.  i know that he needs to relax and enjoy his time off too but it's driving me crazy with how many things we need done.

this is our 2nd baby and looking back i know that you don't need everything perfect.  all babies need in the first few weeks is you to nurse or bottle feed, swaddling blankets, and the car seat in place.  it's making me feel better that everything isn't perfect yet (even though my nesting instinct wishes it was).
