Babies: 0 - 3 Months

STTN, Escape Proof Swaddling, Etc.

DD was doing pretty well to begin with.  Usually she would sleep a 5-7 hour stretch and then another 3 hour stretch, depending.  She had a rough few nights so we decided to try the Escape Proof swaddling using two receiving blankets.  Someone posted the video from YouTube but I can't find the link.  Anyway, at first it looked too constricting.  We tried it once and she didn't seem to like it.  We tried it again last night doing the first blanket a little bit more loose and she slept for 10 hours straight!  That means she went 12 hours without eating.

DS was a very good sleeper too so I know part of it is just luck, but I really think the swaddle helped a lot.  It's definitely worth a shot!

Oh and before someone tries to flame me we were told to stop waking her for feedings at her 2 week appointment.  She's gaining weight just as she is supposed to so the pedi said let her sleep.  DS was the same way and started sleeping 12 hours at night at about 2-3 months old.  He's been sleeping that way ever since.
