My mom just called me yesterday and asked what clothes I am bringing to the hospital for when I have the baby.... Frankly I haven't even thought about this at all!! Is there a list anyone knows of that is a good guide of what to bring for me and baby?
It's funny 9 weeks feels close but so far away... UGH I'm ready for baby to be here.....I THINK ![]()
Re: Hospital
I have given my outfit a little bit of thought - but not much (I don't have a coming home outfit for LO yet).
I just know that I don't want to wear jeans. I'm sure I will be swollen and sore down there and if I by any chance end up with an c-section - I am sure jeans is the last thing I will want on. I plan to either wear a nice pair of sweat pants (yes, sweats) and a nursing tank - and a hoody of course since it will be winter time or a comfortable dress with tights (again winter) and a pair of flat boots. Nothing fancy at all - trust me. I just want to make sure whatever I end up wearing is comfortable to come home in.
Pack something comfy and loose! I am packing my maternity leggings, a tank, and a loose fitting sweater.
For baby, just a super cute sleeper and a hat to wear.
Something really loose and stretchy. I'm taking yoga pants, a nursing tank, and some sort of shirt that I can nurse in easily. I am taking a set of pj's, a robe and slippers this time, but I wore the hospital gown the whole time the last time, so don't know if I'll use them. It was summer the first time, and I thought I might want something warmer than the gown to wear in the hospital this time. We'll see.
FWIW, I took early maternity jeans (the ones I wore until around 5-6 months and then outgrew) when I delivered my first, and I couldn't bear the thought of putting them on when I left the hospital, so I ended up wearing a pair of pajama pants home instead. I'm skipping the jeans this time - definitely going for something as comfy as possible. And pp, I can't imagine wanting to put tights or leggings on - and having to peel them off every hour to change pads - ugh!
For the baby - a t-shirt and one-piece sleeper, plus warm blankets to put over them in the carseat for the trip home. We'll use the hospital hat - the newborn ones you buy were still too big for my son in those really early days.
