I really have no motiviation to work, but still manage to get my work done because I know that this way I get more time with LO.
Everyone I work with is amazed I'm still here, but I'm a receptionst/administrative assistant and the most "physical" thing I do is file, not exactly straining.
Anyone else working up to delivery? What do you do, and is being pregnant making it harder?
Re: anyone working full time until delivery?
You sure are close to delivery!
I plan on doing this. We get a two week break for christmas and New years, but then I'm back. It is give or take another 6 weeks before the lil man comes. I'm in accounting and it is a bit slow and I'm picking on little projects the boss man gives me. I'm more concerned about year end close that will happen in January. I have been very diligently trying to make sure I float through it easily. Let's hope.
I am I am a bookkeeper so I dont have aphysicall demanding job and i work at a small office so if i cant get to something my wonderful bosses get them for me of course they make fun of me for it while doing it.
Though it is getting harder and harder everyday to focus because I just cant wait to meet our little girl!
I put in my FMLA paperwork to stay until 38 weeks, but my OB doesn't think I will make it that long. I have never gone past 37.3 weeks. I'm a teacher so my job is a bit more demanding, but I'm trying to sit more and do more projects/lessons that involve sitting.
That's my plan, unless something else happens. I'm a receptionist/admin assistant also, so, plenty of opportunities to be able to rest.
I am having to keep my feet/legs up because of some swelling, but my company is pretty small, family style, and they are taking care of me.
I am. I'm supposed to be induced next week, so I plan on working up until then. My work load has really decreased as I've gotten closer to the end simply because my co-workers don't the possibility of things being left unfinished with me when I go into labor. I'm finishing up my last project today, and then it should be minimal work for the remainder.
I work in a database management type position for a small software company.
ETA: luckily I telecommute, so I'm working from home, which I think makes working up until the end easier
DH and I were talking about this last night.
I am planning on working until the end, unless doc says otherwise. I am currently out of PTO and it is supposed to reset on my edd. If I make it that far, I may use PTO to get some time off before the baby, but I would rather spend the FMLA time off with LO.
Planning to, as I'm only taking my full-paid time (10 weeks) vs the 12 that I'm allowed through FMLA. Just too hard to budget for two weeks unpaid with daycare to plan for.
Up until the last week or so, I've been full of energy and thought it would be no problem. Now I'm starting to feel huge and exhausted. Not good with more than six weeks to go.
I do graphic design and IT support. Both can be done from a comfy chair, but I'm already getting cranky about having to haul myself to the scanner or to a user's desk for application support. I'll just have to get over it. ;-)
I'm a high school chemistry and Biology teacher and I'm planning to work up until 4 days before my EDD (EDD is in the middle of a week long break)
I'm in the same boat you are, every day I take before birth is a day I don't get after.
I'm working full time up until I have the baby. I sit at a desk all day. Plus my load has already been cut back a bit so I get to sit here more. That also means I get to clean my desk and do a bunch of catch up work I've been putting off for quite some time. I'm a drafter/mapper at a civil engineering firm, so no straining here, either.
