My new nickname should be MISS PIGGY. What does a typical day look like for you as far as eating goes?
So far today, I've had:
Breakfast- Bagel with whipped cream cheese, a bowl full of blackberries and raspberries, and a decaf coffee.
Snacks- 1/2 of a grapefruit, a banana, and a See's Truffle.
Lunch- An apple and some leftover tortellini with white sauce and veggies.
WTF. Am I a bottomless pit or what? I'm trying to avoid the basket of Holiday goodies that came in this morning... Mrs. Fields cookies. GAH. I probably won't have an afternoon snack, because I'll be running around, but for dinner I'm either making breakfast (pancakes, eggs and bacon) or egg, bacon, and tomato sandwiches.
I've gained 18 lbs total with this pregnancy. By the time the third trimester is over, I'll be up 50! My little frame is really going to hate my guts. I hope this all just means Jake is having a growth spurt!
Re: A Day in the Life of a Third Tri'er: DIET
You sound like you are doing pretty darn good to me! All those fruits and veggies and a variety of food groups, I am impressed!
Today for me:
2 waffles with butter and a glass of skim chocolate milk
lunch - panera - mac n cheese and an everything bagel.
CARB overload!!!
To me this sounds completely reasonable. You're eating lots of fruit, which is great.
I eat two breakfasts and a snack before I eat lunch. Then I have two snacks between lunch and dinner!
I wouldn't worry too much....you didn't eat that bad!
I've had:
Breakfast: Grapefruit juice and a bowl of grapenuts
Snack: a Twix! (bad I know) and some Sunchips.
Lunch: Chinese Food...I didnt eat all of it, it didnt sit well
(
And for dinner...probably a frozen pizza.
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with 2 small low-carb tortillas and 8 oz. of 1% milk.
Snack: 30 mini graham crackers (Annie's Bunnies) and 8 oz. 1% milk.
Lunch: Spinach salad with bleu cheese dressing, 3 oz. of shrimp with 1/2 c. quinoa pasta and 1/4. alfredo sauce with 1/2 c. steamed asparagus.
Snack: Small apple with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter.
Dinner: 6 turkey meatballs with 1/2 cup of sweet potato "fries" (baked in the oven), steamed broccoli
Snack: two mini ice cream sandwiches (100 calories each)
Water: 3-4 liters of filtered water a day, plus one or two 8 oz. servings of flavored sparkling water (La Croix brand...no calories, sweetners, sodium, etc.)

I LOVE the La Croix waters!!
Sparkling water has been my biggest help throughout this pregnancy because I haven't liked plain water all that much.

That doesn't sound too bad. So far I've had:
Two pieces of PB toast
A balance protein bar
A grilled chicken sandwich with tomato
A side salad
Your diet sounds really well balanced actually. I eat that much normally, and I don't think I eat a ton of food and bf pregnancy I was under weight.
And as of today I have gained 30 lbs... woohoo. While this was my OB's weight goal for me (30-35) I'm not thrilled about that number.
I know I generally eat pretty healthy, but the sweets have been slowly trickling in the past two weeks... GAH. I was doing so well.

This sounds like me PLUS ice cream hahahhaa
Yes, I love it too. Especially the Cranberry-Berry and Grapefruit Flavors. I agree...it's a nice break from plain water and in the first tri it helped my queasiness.
