becki- tailoring jeans

Hey I was wondering about getting some of my jeans tailored and was wondering about how much it cost? With ON jeans, I wasn't sure if it was worth it to tailor a pair of $15 jeans, or what all could be done to them. I need the waist taken in so that they are actually mid-rise like they are supposed to be, instead of low riders! Not to mention, my butt looks all baggy when my pants fall down to my hips.

  • Yeah I felt silly tailoring ON jeans, but I felt they had the most potential. I think it was $20 to get them hemmed and taken in. It was totally worth it, they fit me really well.

  • thanks for the info- I'll try to get around to it after the holidays, maybe one or 2 at a time since I have a few that I just bought.

  • I have never had the waist taken in on jeans but I get them hemmed all the time b/c they are usually too long for me. My girl charges $5 for a regular hem or $12 if you want to keep the original hem. HTH!
  • no need for hemming- I am plenty tall- but thanks anyway! Smile

  • eswan - I've gone to Lee's Tailors (at Southpoint, but they have a few locations around the triangle) to get the extra butt-flap part of pants taken in, and I'm pretty sure it was around $10 or so.  They've always done a great job on my stuff, and usually pretty cheap too!  =)
