Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What does your 6mo eating schedule look like?

How many bottles? How many ounces? How much solids? How many times a day?

  • She eats 6- 6 1/2 oz every 4 ish hours, and she has about a jar of stage 1 solids at lunch and dinner.  Her first bottle is between 5 & 6 am and her last one is between 8 or 9.

How ya been, Beccaboo?  Haven't seen you on much.

  • We haven't started solids but probably will in the next few days (she has her 6 month appointment tomorrow).

She has 5 bottles a day that are usually 6-8 oz (with the bigger ones usually earlier in the day).

    Thanks.

I have been ok. My husband got tick fever and was REALLY ill for 3 weeks and now me and the little man have a cold.

  • Thanks for the reply's I was thinking about adding in a morning solid to go along with the afternoon one and I was just wondering what that might look like bottles wise.

  • He is still BF every 2 to 3 hours when I'm home. He takes four 4.5 ounce bottles from the nanny when I'm at work (over a 10 hour span). We just started cereal and only do 2 tablespoons once a day.

Do you mix the cereal into the fruit/veggie? Do you feed it seperate? Do you make the cereal as directed and then mix it with the fruit/veggie?

  • I don't mix the cereal with the fruit/veggie.  I have done it before just to get him to take more cereal, but I dont need to now (I figure if he'll eat it plain, I'd rather so he doesn't need it 'sweetened' up!)

I just make the cereal as directed (usually 4 TB w/ 1.5 oz of formula).  then when he finishes that, he gets 1oz of fruit in morn and 1oz veg at night.

    Thank you!

We're starting barely tomorrow and after that we're moving on to veggies. I really wish our pedi would have given us a meal outline at his appt on Mon. She just said to start with orange veggies first. I know there is no real structered way to do things but a little more guidance then just the green light would be nice from somone with a type A personality like me!!

I did try to make a meal plan on Gerber's Web site but since we're just starting out, it was too much food for where we are at.

    I appreciate your info!

  • no problem!  I am type A also haha.  the schedule I posted I actually got from my pede's office after calling a million times paranoid he wasn't eating enough!

Hey I just noticed you from SJ! Me too!

Did you know there is a local SJ board? I check it out but it's usually pretty quiet over there.

  • SJ on the bump?  I used to lurk on the nest one haha, but I haven't in a loong time!

Yup. If you look at all the boards on the left and scroll down to the bottom, there is a Local Nest Board link and a Local Bump Boards link. I just noticed them last week but they may have been there for awhile.

  • o cool, I think I'll go check it out  now!
