Leaving an almost toddler alone in a playroom..

Does anyone do this?   If there are no wires or anything that can topple over on your LO...basically if its just all their toys and they are gated in?

I'm tempted to let him play for a few minutes while I do some things in the next room, but i'm nervous lol.

  • when I need to get some things done, I put him in his walker and let him travel around the house.  We don't have stairs or anything.

  • I'm not ready to do this yet. When I have to be in another room, I put him in his crib or excersaucer. It's probably fine to leave him in the toy room, provided it's gated and only has his toys and no furniture, but the idea makes me nervous.
  • I've left him in his crib or his PNP for short periods.

  • I'll leave ds alone in his room playing if I need to go to the bathroom or throw in a load of laundry.  But, we live in a 2-bedroom apartment with no stairs and everything is within hearing distance (I can practically spit from one end of the apartment to the other, lol).  I won't leave him more than a minute or two though.
  • I do it all the time.  I check on him every 30 seconds or so.  And I'm always just in the next room.

  • we've baby-proofed our living room and I run down to the kitchen and laundry room all of the time.  I can still see him because it's open concept, but yeah, I leave me kid alone all of the time Stick out tongue
  • Ok, thank you :)  He stood at the gate crying, so I put him in his PNP...better option lol

  • I leave DD in the baby proofed LR alone while I am in the next room, need to switch laundry, etc.  She normally comes looking for me in about one minute.

  • oh i do this all the time and it is not gated close.. he pretty much goes everywhere in the house i don't think you need to watch them 24/7 if your house is baby proofed they should be fine ;)
