Trying to Get Pregnant

facebook truck driver picture - NGPR

I went to high school with a guy who is now a truck driver. ?He always posts updates of where he is going and how fast he's driving. ?Well, today he took it to a new level: taking the photo while driving his 18 wheeler and posting the photo while driving his 18 wheeler.

So, this holiday - please be careful while you're on the road. ?You never know what the JERK in the 18 wheeler next to you is really doing. ?:(

I'm so upset and angry about this, I could cry. ?I don't know what company he drives for, or I would call them and report him. ?I'm just sick about it, I don't even want to get in the car again. ?

  • Wow....yes you've always got to be extra careful.

  • And this was the one he took just before that with the tagline, "can't get there fast enough" - also updated using facebook mobile.

  • Call the company and report him. You will do everyone on the road a favor.

  • That is maddening. You should ask who he drives for, I'm sure he's dumb enough to tell.

  • At first I was like, "well maybe he's stopped or something" and then I looked in the bottom left corner of his GPS and it says 88MPH!!!!

I don't know the company - he doesn't have it listed and Peterbilt is just a brand, like Ford, GM, etc.

I did comment on the photo though, saying it was unsettling that he was doing this while driving.?

  • That is crazy. M drives an 18 wheeler too but he doesn't even like to talk to me on the phone while there is a lot of traffic so he can concentrate.

I think that is wonderful and I (along with many) really appreciate that.

I'm not going to say that I've never talked on my phone while driving - but this is downright terrifying.?

  • If you know his name, report him to your state highway patrol.  They will be able to pull his license and possibly revoke his CDL status.

I agree.  DH has been rear-ended by an 18 wheeler before, luckily it was just a little tap, but they seriously make me so nervous.  Seeing that makes me so scared!

Now I wish we weren't driving to Philadelphia (from Wisconsin) on the highway Friday-Saturday.

M is a very cautious driver.

Man, good luck with whoever is on the rode with that guy. 18 wheelers scare me during bad weather.

I talk on the phone too, but we aren't driving huge vehicles.

  • I wonder where he is.  Palma?  By the looks of the map, he's in the middle of nowhere.  I think there are rural highways out west with 80 mph speed limits.

Now I think that's a little crazy.  I think we're all guilty of texting/talking while driving.  Just cuz he's driving a huge truck doesn't make it a crime.

Ummm...no, in many states, the government makes it a crime. Texting, talking without hands-free, or being on the web while driving IS a crime here. And, even where there are no outright laws, it's not safe!

Its not that he's talking OR texting OR speeding - its that he's comfortable enough going 88 MPH while he's taking photos and facebooking them, as if its brag-worthy. ?

I can guarantee that if he were to get in a wreck and injure/kill someone and it was discovered that he was doing THIS when it happened - he would probably be put behind bars, in addition to being sued and getting his license revoked.

It is dangerous and while a LOT of people do talk / text while they drive, not everyone is finding the time or free hands to photograph their speed limit, upload the photo, log in to facebook and post it for all to see.
