Just back from prepared childbirth class....

it went well.. though I cried at the birthing video (sentimental weirdo that I am) and cringed at the thought of all the people who are gonna see my privates that day.

The class was informative... we learned that my doc wont be called.. unless there is an emergency... until I am 8 cm.  this freaks me out.

I also learned that I can have 2 people in the delivery room.. one for me and one designated for Harper.  My SIL is wonderful and is a pediatric cardiac nurse with the top hospital in the midwest.  I called her and am ecstatic to say she is going to be present and stay with H.  It makes me feel soooo good to know that someone who loves my LO will be with her while they are stitching me up.... and that DH can rest for a second before we are all together in the couplet care unit:)

    Tex, took the words out of my mouth!  Think positive - you won't need stitches!  As Ina May Gaskin would say, you're going to get huge down there!

    Sounds like the class went great.  It's good to know that you'll have a good support system with you on your big day.

    Glad to hear that you felt the class was informative. DH and I are signed up for ours and I can't wait. Then it will really feel super real that we are going to be parents! YAY

    only one class in this series.... though we have a three class series in January...   Alas, I hope they wont have to stitch me up... but that is what the annoying lady kept saying when referencing my bonus support person..."while they are stitching up your butt"... etc.

    ick....

    the lovely couple next to us also cringed every time she said this. 

    I am hoping for no stitches... of course I'm also not rubbing my junk with olive oil to soften it eitherBig Smile
