DH seems to be the same way. He got the tree and put it up, but that is all he has wanted to do. I decorated it, wrapped everyone's presents. He seems very ba-humbug.
Sorry you are having a hard time to get into the holiday spirit.
It has been sitting for two days with only the bottom half lit.
Having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit.
Anyone else lacking the seasonal jollys?
I most definitely am this year. Although I just made DH unwrap and rewrap the entire tree with lights because the first attempt was horrible. So I must have some attempt at being jolly left in me.
I hate to say this...but I've been dragging my feet every year around Christmas since I was considered a part of DH's family. MIL starts hounding me for gift lists before halloween and also buys an embarrassing amount of gifts. I almost hate the holiday now.
I did finally put the lights on the tree tonight though and I'm feeling a little more christmas-y.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!

Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Sorry, I'm one of those who love to wrap gifts but I'm too far from NYC to be your little helper.
The only thing I am having trouble with is coming up with gifts for In Laws. Everyone is done except for MIL, FIL, and BIL and every idea I come up with DH shoots down for good reasons (like : They already have that)
Me.. I am a holiday freak! I am enjoying them to the fullest DH on the other hand is not being very very screwge like! he just isn't getting into it this year..

Ah man- we should switch for the night- i'm great at giving gifts. what about getting your inlaws an evening out? are they together still? perhaps dinner at a nice restaurant?

They are still together and go out all the time on their own dime so a night out isn't too unusual. We are giving them a blurb book we made of our wedding photo's so no we just need a gift for each that's about $40 per. FIL has NO hobbies, doesn't read books, he's your classic grumpy old man so he's the hard one. MIL will most likely get a book and an item of clothing.
All right. I should just make myself some coffee (with Baileys) and just get the job done.
Actually, wrapping presents is one of my favorites! I hate shopping for gifts though. Maybe I should work at a department store in their wrapping section during the holidays!
I'm usually have a surplus of holiday spirit (enough to annoy my DH every now and then), but this year, I'm just not feeling it. Makes me sad! Maybe it will arrive late this year! **crossing fingers**
oy that is tough-last christmas i made everyone wedding gifts- it was super easy and they loved it.
this year i'm getting my parents theatre tickets. does MIL like to cook? perhaps a nice cookbook from William Sonoma with some kind of utensil or fun food mix that they have there? I got my boss an Egg Nog pancake mix w/ pure maple syrup and a gift card.
does your FIL like any sports? specific team? Or is that considered too much of a hobby for him.
they have really fun gifts on uncommongoods.com...maybe something will give you an idea from there.

LOL! You sound just like me. I'm anal about that kind of stuff. DH won't touch the tree now because he knows if he did it for me, I'd rearrange everything the second he leaves the room!

See, since I've become part of DH's family, I've been dragging my feet as well. That's a lot more gifts to buy! (I HATE SHOPPING!)
