OMG he fell asleep unswaddled (and yes, I'm on the right board)

I know many of you ditched the swaddle long ago, but we hadn't. I kept trying to put DS down without it and it would only lead to lots and lots of crying and being put back in his Woombie in which he would then fall alseep almost instantly.

Well I just put him in his crib to hang out for a bit which I do before naps just to see if he'll ever get used to it, and he finally fell asleep unswaddled for the first time.

I wasn't sure this day would come! I thought I would still be swaddling when he was going off to college.

Seriously though, I decided to keep giving him the opportunity to try and fall asleep without it and one day he would be ready.

I'm just so excited. I had to share. Thanks!

    Thats really great! DD is is over 7 months old and I still swaddle!!!  I don't swaddle at night because she will sleep with out it.  For naps I have to have it!  Some days she will go with out it (which is rare, last time was around Thanksgiving)  Do they make an XL swaddle? LOL!!!!

    I hope our day will come...  I use the Swaddle Sleep Sacks and can get DS to nap with his arms out.  I can even get him to go down for the night without the swaddle but after a few hours, he wakes up and needs to be swaddled in order to STTN.  I keep hoping that one night he will just keep on sleeping without me having to swaddle his arms.

    The Swaddle Sleep Sacks are getting too small for him... I am going to have to cut the bottoms off soon... Seriously!!

    Just as an FYI: if you decided you want to keep swaddling, DS is currently in the Mega Baby size of the Woombie and at 17lbs and 27 in there is still room left for him to grow.

    He rolls onto his side and belly and it has plenty of stretch that he can push up on his arms and move around.

    I am so glad to see this.  I think I am the only one left on the 3 to 6 mo board that still swaddles, but he likes it!
