Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Recommend your BC pill please (time sensitive)

In 2 hours I will be seeing the doc and going back on birthcontrol. The only option right now are pills (no iuds or rings because of the misplaced iud last year, no patch cause i am allergic, and no depo because its the devil).

Can you please tell me what your birthcontrol is, how you like it, and any side effects that you have noticed.  (looking for something with lower hormones or whatever its called in it).

 Thanks

  • I am not, and will not be on BC. When I was, I loved Yaz. It was rather low dose, and I noticed little to no side effects.  Yasmin is also great.

  • I take the mini-pill.

I haven't had any side effects (no weight gain or exhaustion like previous bc that I was on).

It is easy but I always worry I am going to forget so I have to set my timer for it.

someecards.com - I support Newt Gingrich's idea of colonizing the moon if it'll help me get away from Newt Gingrich.

  • I hate the mini pill. I've (TMI) had my period for 2 weeks now. I'm trying to get my doctor to give me another form of bc.

  • I *think* im going to go back on the pill I was on NECON .5/35 (their are 3 different strengths).  I tried Ovcon-35 after being on a triphasic for a few years.  It was expensive, and the necon is a generic and its only a .01mg difference.

Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

  • I used Femcon Fe before I was pregnant, now I don't use BC just because I'm BF and even the P4 pills I'm worried about using while BF. But the Femcon Fe was a low hormone and I don't recall any side effects.

The femcon fe is the same as the ovcon.  The companies merged and changed the name on it.

  • I'm asking for Yaz when I go back at 6 weeks PP. LOVED it. No side effects for me.
  • I just got back from my appt. I asked for Ortho-tricyclen again because I was on it for years before. It worked really well for me and made my periods much lighter and bearable.
  • I've taken various pills and I like Levlin and Nordette.  Seasonale is the devil
