4-week-old with a cold :(

Jack got really congested yesterday and it got progressively worse through the night. We called the pedi and are taking all the neccesary measures (humidifier, saline, steamy bathroom, elevated head, lots of boobie time), and now we are just waiting it out.

Pedi wasn't worried cause there is no fever and he is still breathing enough to eat, but if he's still this way tomorrow I'm gonna take him in.

Does anyone know how long the average infant cold lasts?

    Joshua has had the same thing going on since the day after his 1 month appointment last week. He has been congested and coughing to the point now that he is gagging. He is still eating and getting his boob time in but I think he is having a hard time keeping up. I have been using saline and the aspirator on him which him and I both hate!  My humidifier doesn't work anymore so I need to go get a new one. I'm not sure how long it will last. He has had this since last tuesday.

    Oh dear! Almost a week now? You must be beside yourself. I hate watching him go through this with minimal ways to relieve him. Did you take him to the pedi for his cold or are you just waiting it out? I'm being a worry wort and this is my first time dealing with anything like this.... Hope your LO feels better!

    I'm calling my pedi back tomorrow and going to see if I can bring him in. I just hate seeing him so sick :( Plus now he is having issues pooing. He totally sounds constipated today grunting and trying so hard to get the poopie out :(

    When I called my pedi last week she said that because of him not having a fever and all that jazz that we will have to wait it out and see what it becomes. Easy for her to say! Hopefully both our LO's get better soon!!
