Balls (of cake) clicky poll

I am making some Christmas cake balls to bring to work, neighbors, etc. I got white, red and green candy melts for coating; mini candy cane sprinkles; red and green sprinkles; and mini sugar poinsettias to decorate them with. I was thinking about doing red velvet cake so when you bite into it, you see Christmasy red cake. (The red candy melts will likely be used for decorating, not coating whole balls). But, then there's no chocolate. Hmmmm.?[Poll]

  • See, I think red velvet cake is fun and all, but I don't understand the love for it. It's just white cake with food dye. It's strange.

  • It's just neat looking and not common.

  • I think red velvet, when done right, tastes way different (and better) than plain white cake with food dye.  But in this case, when it comes out of the box, you're right...it's just red Wink  But it is more Christmas-y.  And...I dipped my balls (ha!) in melted white chocolate chips, and they were delish...and then you have your chocolate!

  • I did the red velvet and I'm dipping them in white chocolate.  I bought red jimmies to sprinkle on top.
