I thought I remembered reading on here that for multiples insurance often pays for a breast pump. I was going to call them tomorrow and see, but just wondering if anyone's insurance has done this.

Re: insurance paying for breast pump?
My insurance (Blue Cross - Messa) paid for the Medela Pump in Style. I just needed my doctor to write a prescription stating that I needed it.
Either "working mom" or "mother of multiples" or even "mother of twins in NICU", which is what mine said, will all work if your insurance does indeed cover pumps. I took the prescription to a medical supplies place & got it without any issues!
Yes! They paid for a pump n style and it was delivered to my hospital room before I checked out of the hospital. They ALSO covered a hospital grade pump when the pump in style wasn't working very well. (In the end, my supply disappeared and I only used the pumps for a few weeks, unfortunately). It's definitely worth calling!!
While you have them on the phone, ask if the cover child birth classes and baby formula. I just found out that they will pay for a year's worth of baby formula!!! That will save us about $2,000.
GL!

Yes ours does, but I have to have a form filled out by my OB saying that it is medically necessary, otherwise I will just get a single manual pump.
I may have to call them back ans see what else they might cover!
I just got the prescription for mine yesterday! Hubby called insurance (BCBS of MI PPO) a few weeks ago and they said I didn't even need to wait until the babies are born. My doc wrote "Breast Pump - Twin Pregnancy" but said if insurance had any questions that they could call the office.
