3rd Trimester

Do you have a nickname for baby?

Since we havent told anyone what we are naming baby we still call her McFred.

Dh and I were talkign about names and I said that I was't crazy about all the McNames around lately.  (we have seen a lot of McKayla,  McKenzie, McKenna) So I said Fred would be a good name for our little girl, then DH started callign her McFred.

Since then we have settled on a real name for her, but even when its just the two of us we still call her McFred.  I think its really starting to grow on me!   Big Smile

  • We call him Jr. even though he's not going to be a Jr.

  • Loading the player...
  • Hubby just calls him, "bub" or his real name if no one is around.
  • I'm embarassed to admit this, but the whole family calls our  little one "Skelly". That first ultrasound looked so much like Skelator, that the nickname just stuck! My husband and I are nervous he/she will be called that after the birth!

  • We bought him a stuffed sea turtle while in Hawaii in Oct. The name of the turtle is POKEY BELLY. So naturally that's what we call the baby too!
  • I call her E K DUB because our last name starts with a W. I say she is my little gangsta baby. I call her little sometimes too.
  • We call the baby Little (since we're not telling names and we're team green). If I have a preemie, I'm going to kick myself. I didn't mean for the baby to live up to it.
  • Nope, nothing yet. We just refer to her by name.
  • Since we don't know if the baby will be a boy or girl, we call it BG

  • We call her Marley....well, my DD does.  My dad calls her Bob bc he thinks he is a comedian.

We called her circus peanut , lol! When i had my 8 weeks ultrasound she looked like one of those sugar candies that they call circus peanuts.

  • Before we knew the sex, we called him 'bunny' which also fit because of how ninja-like he was.

The sweet thing is I also have a thing for Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit and a friend of mine made a gorgeous cross-stitched quilt we'll be using as a wall hanging with scenes from the story of Peter Rabbit.

Since we haven't told anyone besides family the name, we still refer to him as 'bunny'...but that will change in the next week or so once he's here.

  • I call her Lyla bean every once and a while. But Funnier story is that my sis is preggers too and not revealing the name. She likes irish names (we are only a smidge irish)  and DH calls the baby Shaleighli. NOt sure if the spelling is even close!?!?
Baby number two! Coming soon! June 8th.
  • Baby

    ?

we haven't told anyone our name either, and we sort of prefer calling her Baby rather than the name we are thinking of using. I like it.?

  • K so the spelling is sheleighly
Baby number two! Coming soon! June 8th.
  • Gummy Bear...We've chosen a name now, and DH thinks I should use that, but I just think Gummy is too cute.
  • haha - McFred makes me laugh. I call LO fatty a lot because he loves pushing his butt into my ribs and I also call him little foot because he likes to run his feet all over my belly and ribs. DH just calls him Jackson

  • i call her Baby Beluga... like the kids song that apparently no one has heard, about the baby beluga whale.

i hope it doesnt stick after she's here though. she might not like being called a whale, eventually in life.

  • Klarissa's nickname is Monster. Shortened from "throw-up monster" courtesy of DH. I has such horrible m/s 1st tri and was so sick, that's how DH nicknamed her. Monster just kind of stuck I guess.
  • We call the baby lil' squid. I can't remember where it came from now- I should have written down when first started refering to it as a squid. Now it's just funny. I also refer to it as my nudger, the kid, and IT a lot.

  • We are Team Green and not telling anyone our names so everyone has their own name for the baby. My sister Kelly calls the baby "Little Kelly", my sister Kari calls the baby "Little Nardo".

Our last name is Stalcup so DH and I call the baby "Little Cup".

  • We have a few nicknames for LO, but my favorite is Monkey Boy since I feel like he is always hanging from my ribs!  We also call him by his name sometimes too.

  • Peanut.. not terribly creative-- but I also sometimes call him big-butt because he's always jamming it into my side/ribcage at night.
  • Um.... he is just my little peanut. When we had our first ultrasound my grandma asked me what the baby looked like and I told her a boiled peanut. Our little peanut! Everyone knows his name  so they have mostly started calling him that. My MIL insists on calling our LO Baby Berty because she knows that it drives me crazy. My DH's name is Bert.  It makes me feel left out, but that is retarded. Oh well.

But I nicknamed all of my god children. They are starting to outgrow them though. My sweetest baby girl age 5 is Noodle (Savannah), next girl age 3 is Monkey (Morgan), little boy age 1 is Rambo (Wyatt), and little girl age 4-5 months is Scooter (Carley).

  • We call the baby Fenway.  My husband's a BoSox fan, and would actually name  the baby that if I would let him (but trust me, baby will not be named Fenway once he/she is born!) ...my DH's family calls the baby Gus.  My family calls the baby Buck.

I found out the other day that my parents called me Bozo when I was in-utero.  Nice.

Baby Baluga in the deep blue sea, you swim so fast and you swim so free...

    That one?

** My DH has made up 3 nicknames:

    Cleatus the Fetus

    Hank-opotamus  (like Hippopotamus)

    Hank-enstein  (like Frankenstein)

  • Yep, we call the baby Bug.

  • We call him Munchkin and so do all of our family and friends.  I started it in the 1st tri and it stuck.  Even when we're having a serious conversation, we call him Munchkin.  (Eg.- "We need to look into college savings plans for Munchkin.")  We're down to 2 names now but will probably wait until he's born to make a final decision, so he'll be Munchkin until then.
