DD had a 5.5 hour nap yesterday was up for 2.5 hours and then slept a 14 hour night. She has a cold right now but this seems like a lot of sleep. She does sleep more than the average child. She is 15 months and typically has a 3 hour nap (10am to 1pm) and then another hour or two late afternoon).
I'm certainly not complaining about having a great sleeper but this worries me a little. She seems completely fine when she is up. Plays happily, eats normal, no fever. I'm assuming she's just catching up from a late night we had earlier this week but was wandering if anyone else had this happen? and if it ended up being something a little more serious or just playing catch up after a busy time?
Thanks.
Re: DD sleeping a lot - 5.5 hour nap, 14 hour night
If she's not feeling well her body probably just needs the sleep. DS was taking 3.5hr naps last weekend fighting off a cold.
Could be fighting off the cold, playing catch up form your late night, growth spurt....
DD does this when she is growing. She sleeps for.ev.er.
