I had the same problem with DD. I tried for 3 weeks to get her to drink it and she refused. Last week the pedi suggested I try thinning it out with water since maybe the reason she wasn't drinking it is because it was too thick. So I tried mixing half milk and half water and it worked! She now drinks about 2-3 sippy cups of it a day.

My 15 month old doesn't drink milk. She eats yogurt each night and cheese throughout the day. Sometimes she will dip toast or graham crackers in milk. I have tried chocolate milk and it worked better, but not well enough to do it on a daily basis. Pinto beans have a lot of calcium too and she LOVES those. I was stressing about it, but decided it isn't worth it. The guidelines for the specific amounts of cow's milk LOs are supposed to be drinking are because it is a relatively easy and efficient way for toddlers to get the recommended amounts of D, calcium, protein, and whatever else is in there that I am missing. It isn't the law and we are finding ways to work around it instead of stressing over it. GL!
Oh wait, you are looking for suggestions to get LO to drink milk...no I have none
DD didn't switch to milk until 18 months and our pedi told us it was ok for her to be on formula until she was 2. We offered it a lot and DD would absolutely freak out (screaming, crying, refusing to eat or drink anything). We waited a couple months and tried again except this time we mixed it. First 6 oz formula with 2 oz milk for a week, then 5 formual with 3 milk, etc until she was totally switched.
Start mixing formula with the milk at varying percentages. For example start with 80% formula mixed in with 20% milk. After a couple days, add 10%-15% more milk. DD had major eating issues and this was the only way we could transition her from BM to a high-calorie formula. Good luck!
Do not put chocolate or strawberry in milk this young. It could turn into a terrible battle. Does your LO drink water? We had a little trouble getting DD to drink whole milk (never did formula) so here's what we did...
1) Bought a different style cup from her water cup. It helped her to know she wasn't getting water.
2) Mixed varying degrees of water into the milk. We increased the milk each time until she took it plain.
very hard when she was that little. within the past 3-6 months (2.5-3) with daycares help we have told her if she drinks her milk she'll get big and strong and daycare told the kids they will be able to keep their teeth healthy!! luckily my daughter buys this stuff

Same as susan...
My 3-year old hasn't had a DROP of milk since 13 months old... she just flat out refused regardless of everything we tried and, along with our Pediatrician's evaluations of her and our confidence in her growth & development, we stopped worrying LONG ago!
Thank you all for the suggestions! It's nice to hear that many of you don't worry about it. I never thought about adding water. I'll give that a try today!
