so after my FET fail i decided i wanted to just feel like a human being during the holidays and be able to enjoy some wine with my husband on christmas . . . but when i think that i won't have a retrieval until february. . .ugh i just can't take it!
IVF ladies - how does the cycle start? I'm a little confused since my fresh was converted from IUI. is it like the FET where you start BCP then lupron, then have a period, and then add the rest? so an IVF cycle is really like two cycles?
so since my RE can't put me on BCP anyway, i could in theory start lupron for a January retrieval?
WDYT? should i just get through the holidays? i don't know what to do.
Re: IVF ? & i'm starting to regret taking a cycle off
I was just talking to svp about this today. It feels weird to not cycle, and to not take shots, and to not obsess about every feeling.
I wish I wasn't taking a month off either.
For my IVF I did 3 weeks of BCP with the last week overlapping with Lupron. Stims started about 3 days after last BCP. So I started BCP on 10/14 and my ET was 11/22 so it was a little over a month for the whole thing.
I say if you are mentally and physically ready to start a new cycle then I would talk to your RE about it. You have to do what makes you happy.
For your FET you went on BCP and Lupron? is that the norm? My nurse didn't mention any of that and that now worries me. I am just taking estrace, endometrin, and PIO.
i have heard of some of the women doing natural FETs. . .
but mine was BCP (but i can't take the kind that they want me to take, so I skipped that completely), Lupron on CD 19 - for 4 weeks. around CD 28 they gave me provera to bring on a period. (while still on lupron). then after the transfer was scheduled, i used the calender they gave me. estrace every day, 2x to 3x a day depending on calender, estrogen patches. then stopped lupron and added progesterone, the z pack, gosh that steroid that i always forget the name . .. medrol i think?
so from literal stop to finish it was almost 2 months. . .october 1st to november 27 (beta day)

IVF #3
I'm doing my first IVF next cycle so, I have no idea if this will help but here's my protocol.
Lupron on CD 21 next cycle. Stims on CD 3 of the following cycle; stim for about 10 -12 days. Trigger around CD 12 or 13. ER 36 hrs after trigger. ET 5 days after ER.
It sounds like you really want to start another cycle ASAP. Personally, I say get through the holidays, have some good wine and start in January.
Hope this helps and good luck!
I wasn't on BCPs, but my IVF was still two cycles. I started Lupron on CD21 of the first cycle. Then I stayed on Lupron until AF showed. I started stims on CD3 of the second cycle and decreased the Lupron at the same time.
Good luck hon.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
the doctor never gave an actual term for my protocol but it looks like an antagonist protocol with lupron, or a long lupron protocol with an antagonist. does that makes sense?
lupron starts before AF, and continues for about 2 weeks after but add follistim, menopur, and ganirelix. as well as the estrace and progesterone.

Since every RE is different, I can only tell you about my IVF cycles which is not necessarily how your RE would work. Here's how my cycles go....my RE does not do cycle dates or BCP so, in general, my cycles aren't as long as some IVF cycles (which is good for me b/c it means I can start a new one sooner if it doesn't work out):
