Most people give me the side eye or look somewhat horrified haha. I personally think it has a lot to do with region. If I go to the city, I don't get as many weird looks.
I live in the midwest and wear him in rural areas (where I live) and also in a city atmosphere (St. Louis) and I have never had a negative reaction. Everybody thinks it's so cool. They are more curious than anything. I get a lot of "does it hurt your back?".

I think its totally geographic. Where I live, we all wear babies.
I also live in the fancy stroller neigbourhood and quite often you will see someone pushing the stroller while wearing the baby (this has happened to me, sometime I just have too much to carry. lol).
I have had some wonderful comments too. Really old ladies like to tell me how lucky we are to have all these options for carrying babies, because in their day, they just had to hold them all day And cashiers at the grocery store get to talk to the baby, which is good for everyone.
I was at a play group this morning and we all traded carriers and tried them out. This wasn't an AP group, just moms and babies.
Some make comments to me about LO always being in the Moby. But it works for us. I have only seen one other person with a Moby in my area.

I went to the no coast craft-o-rama this weekend & there is no way I could have counted all the carriers. Mostly mei-tais with a few ergos & mobys sprinkled about. So I agree that it's geographical. It's only the old folks who comment, & it's usually something cute & cheesy like "I wish someone would carry me like that!".
Most people ask me where we got our carrier. ( usually the Ergo) In fact the other day we had a funny experience leaving the mall. My partner was wearing the baby and I was pushing the stroller ( full of bags - great for carrying stuff) As we walked out the door into the parking lot someone coming in yelled " good for you for wearing your baby!" It was so funny.
I get lots of soon-to-be grandmas wondering where they can get it for their daughters and daughter-in-laws. Some people wondering whether it hurts or is dangerous. And a few vigilantes who insist I'm going to drop my kid and kill her.
I live in NYC, so no one bats an eye. Although some people I see daily would remark on how ds was ALWAYS in the wrap, particularly when he was little.
But I just got back from Disney and I couldn't believe I was one of only 3 other people I saw with some kind of carrier. I realized how uncommon bwing must be in other parts of the country.
I usually get positive comments and people ask about the BH. I did see an acquaintance at the grocery store and she commented that she thought T was going to get poisoned by the lack of oxygen.
I've only ever seen one other baby-wearer out in public around here in the six months we've lived here, but I never get any weird looks or rude comments, either. People tend to leave us alone more when he's in the wrap, instead of coming up and cooing about how cute he is like they do when he's in the car seat carrier.

I live in STL and wear DS in the Moby. I've also never had a negative reaction. People just compliment how adorable DS is. I can't disagree!!! When I first got it - DH thought it was strange...but once he saw how easy it was and how much DS loved it, he understood.
i get a lot of older women commenting on how "cute" it is
and some younger people giving me wierd looks. i have had 2 people come and ask me if ds is in my shirt when he was in the moby.
we go to disneyland a lot and ive seen maybe 2 other people with an ergo and only one person with a moby. it was cool to see that 2 out of the 3 ive seen were the daddies doing the babywearing
The other day I had him at Costco and when I was checking out the man behind me was asking if I needed help taking the cart out and saying he should have asked sooner. Haven't gotten much of a reaction otherwise.
I have gotten some side-eyes, but mostly people just stare, especially if he's in a wrap. No one has ever said anything negative, except for my MIL.
I did have DS in the Ergo in the grocery store a few days before Thanksgiving, and the old ladies went nuts over him in that. Things like "what a precious cargo", etc.
I've only ever seen one person wear their baby in my area in something
other than a bjorn or frame-backpack carrier (not that those don't
count!). I think she had a MT, and she was walking her dog outside my
house awhile back. I got so excited, I think I would have run out to
talk to her if DS hadn't just gone down for a nap.

Most people say they are jealous and wish they had one when they had kids.
I have a homemade moby.

Lots of people babywear around here, so sometimes people will ask about a particular carrier, but most of the time no one says anything.
When we were visiting my inlaws in western PA people looked curious mostly. A couple of people stopped us and said they thought it was neat.
I don't think I ever got any reaction.
