Pregnant after a Loss

Is your dr. table comfy? Elevated?

The table at my dr. office is cushioned a little, so it's not terribly uncomfortable, but it's completely flat! Yesterday, my dr. asked me if I needed help sitting up, I said I thought I could do it... and I did, but barely! He just laughed and said that this would be the last appt where I could do it myself.

I wish their tables had an incline to them, or those cool chairs like on the DHC show Home Deliveries. I can see that they are actually able to incline them, but it doesn't look like they ever do! Instead, the dr. at my office just grabs our hands and pulls! Embarrassed

  • lol, it gets tough at some point. As far as I can picture, my OB's are already inclined. I don't think I ever feel like I'm totally flat. I'll have to check it out next week ;)

  • I've been struggling to get off the table too.  Darn those flat tables (& gravity)!

  • My Drs chair has a slight incline but she also has pillows there (under the table paper) so that kinda helps prop you up a bit.

    This.

It's crazy how difficult the little things become!

  • Inclined. And my OB always offers me a hand... she's been doing that since before I needed it. :)
  • They're a little inclined at my OB office, but the OB always offers to help me up.  Usually I can do it myself, but it's getting harder!

    this.

  • One of my doctors grabbed my wrist and yanked me to a seated position at my 15w appt, which I thought was so weird. Now I know why that seems to be a habit! The tables are quite flat and even with a pillow, it's hard to sit up.

This. I haven't had any trouble sitting up yet though. I guess it'll get harder pretty soon.
