I Had My Baby Girl!! Birth Story & PIP

Karly Jayde arrived Sunday December 6th at 12:05pm (at 37 weeks/1 day). She weighed 6lbs. 7oz. and is 19in. long!

Sunday morning about 4am, I was "leaking" and I thought I just peed a little bit (I posted this in another post) and put a pad on just in case and laid back down.. Then cramps started shortly after, but I thought nothing of it because I had been having some on and off for the past few days. I took an Ambien about 6am and tried going back to sleep. That didn't happen, these "cramps" were too strong to sleep through, but I still wasn't convinced that they were contactions, and I didn't want to get to the hospital just to be sent home.

At first, they didn't really have a pattern and just sort of came and went away at random times. At about 8:45am, I was in a lot of pain, they were coming sooner and I threw up, which is the point where I called my FI at work and told him to come take me to the hospital.. He got home about 9:15am and we were on our way to the hospital. Got there about 9:45ish.

My FI wheeled me in to L&D, where a nurse quickly took me to our room and told me to take off my pants. She checked me and I was already 6cm! I couldn't believe it! The nurse wanted me to go pee and then she put an IV in so I could get my epidural.. As soon as she started some meds in the IV, I was feeling realllly good! The anestegialogist came in within 15 mins and gave me the epidural, which I didn't even feel any of that, all I knew was that I felt good! Now it is about 11am, the nurse checks me again and I'm ready to push. They were really awesome and just encouraged me to push whenever I felt the urge to.. I pushed maybe like 8-10 times and it wasn't painful or anything, just a lot of pressure like I was pooping, the worst part was the Dr. putting her fingers around the baby's head to help her out. And that was it, she was out by 12:05pm. And the placenta just kind of plopped out a few minutes after the baby! I feel really lucky that I had such a quick and easy L&D.. I only have 2 stitches and I feel kind of sore, but really good for the most part!!

We are so in love with our baby girl!
