It's the good old hair dye question. I never paid attention to these questions in first tri, b/c I didn't plan on dyeing my hair. Well, now I have quite a number of unsightly grays and some holiday parties coming up, and I would like to have my hair done before them. I didn't even think twice about this and scheduled an appt, but I said something about it at a family dinner the other day and my sister, mom, and grandma all freaked out and told me I shouldn't be dyeing my hair.
Really, what is the worry about this? The chemicals? None of my family could articulate WHY I shouldn't dye my hair...I just shouldn't. Anyway, I go to an Aveda salon and their hair dye is largely natural, but it is all-over color, not just highlights, and it sits on my head for a solid 30 minutes. Sorry to bore you all with a redundant question, but I would like some reassurance that I'm not being an evil mom if possible. Thanks.
Re: Ok, ok, I know this is a first tri ?
Dying your hair (all-over and highlights) is totally FINE. That is an old-school myth and there are no studies that validate it.
Dye your hair if you want.
How did you know you were allergic...I know this is off-topic, but I've had some freaky reactions to it, and was wondering if I was but not sure how you would even know that....
I've never heard it wasn't safe but my step-mom is a hairstylist and she says that the color might come out a little off because of the elevated horomones.
