EPers: What bottle do you recommend?

DD seems to be very, very gassy and it often results in her being very upset (inconsolable and refusing to eat) so I'm wondering if it's our bottle... We've been using the Medela bottles that had come with the pump, so nothing fancy.

TIA!

Re: EPers: What bottle do you recommend?

  • We don't EP (80% pumping, 20% nursing) but use the Born Free bottles with slow flow nipple and have had good luck with them.
  • Loading the player...
  • we use avent, i hate them but baby loves them... we tried to get born free yesterday cuz i heard they r better, i love dthem.... baby hated them... advent it is lol!
  • I don't EP, but I do bottle feed a few times a week and LO seems to like the Avent with the number 2 slow flow nipple best.
  • I don't exclusively pump but I use Dr. Brown's bottles.  My LO hasn't had any problems with gas.
  • We didn't like the bottles/nipples that came with the pump so we have been using Dr. Browns and love them.
  • We just switched to Dr. Brown's bottles last night, because LO was spitting up all the time, no matter how often she was burped. The change in bottles made a huge difference. She's much easier to burp, and hardly spits up any more. She's also sleeping much better. We had also been using the bottles that came with the Medela PiSA.
  • LO seems to like Born Free the best.
  • Dr. Brown's bottles.  I wouldn't use anything else.  I worked in a nursery a while back and so I used all different types of bottles and the Dr. Browns ones were the only ones I liked.  I remember saying that when I had kids I would use them.
  • We use a variety of bottles - Dr Brown, Playtex Ventaire, Avent and Playtex Dropins.  We had a Medela bottle but every time we used it, DD would projectile vomit so it went in the trash.

  • I only use the Medela bottles for pumping into.  We started feeding from Playtex Drop-Ins and later switched to Born Free, purely because I had more of those and didn't have to do dishes as often.  LOL
