Anyone else not attempting a Santa pict this year?

I feel like I'm copping out by not even trying but Sara doesn't like strangers. Heck she is even a little fearful of people she sees every once in a while. So I'm figuring that trying will just ended up in her being a crying mess and me a little frustrated. I guess I feel sad that when she gets older she won't have these funny Santa pictures to look back at.

We didn't take one last year. I knew J wouldn't like it and I didn't feel like waiting in line forever just to have to calm a screaming toddler afterwards. This year we were able to go early and he did just fine but I don't think there's anything wrong w/skipping it altogether. You'll have plenty of funny Sara pictures to look back on w/o frustrating yourself and her this year!

If you know she won't like it, I think it's kind to skip it. I doubt that she'll be disappointed to not see photos of herself upset.

Last year, DS didn't like strange men all the much and I refused to pay for a picture of him crying. This year, we happened to get there and he was in a great mood, loves strangers now (much to my dislike), and the line was short so I went for it. Otherwise we would have skipped it too.

I understand how you feel, but...I don't have any funny pics of me as a baby sitting on Santa's lap screaming and I don't feel deprived.

E screams so freakin' much these days, the last thing I want to do is make her do something "fun" that I *know* will make her lose her sh!t. I'd rather save those moments for things that *have* to be done...like lunch and dinner.

We will not. It's odd Darrian is super friendly and outgoing when it comes to strangers, but for some reason Santa FREAKS him out. Last year he cried bloody murder. This year I decided to skip it. I did not want to wait in a LONNNGG line for him to scream. Then I felt bad, and we saw Santa at this thing on friday. I just walked him over to show him Santa and he freaked out. No love for Santa, so we will skip it.

I have billions of pictures of me as a child, not one is of me and Santa. I don't feel deprived in the least. We took Riley to get his done, but I could have easily skiped it this year but MIL was in town and it meant a lot to her. It isn't worth doing them if she is going to be traumatized by it.

Have absolutely no need to get pictures of J with Santa. Christmas pictures? Absolutely. Santa? Maybe one year, but not this one!

We have yet to attempt a Santa picture. I know the boys would NOT go for it and that's ok with me. To be honest, when I was little I hated doing the sitting on Santa's lap and getting a picture. I guess I just figured they'd be the same.

We did it this year just because it's K's first Christmas, but this will probably be the only time we do.

We didn't attempt one last year. I was thinking about just going to the mall and getting a pic of Ryan looking at the decorations, with hopefully a little Santa action in the background. But, we never got around to it.

I think we'll try that same approach this year.

not really, last years was horrible, and its not worth the cost. I think we will skip it this year.

I hadn't planned on it, and really don't care all that much...however, Grey has seen pics of his friends with Santa and expressed that he DOES want to see Santa. So we probably will at some point.

There is one at a house near us. One of the houses that is all lit up. They just ask for a donation to the food bank and you take your own picture. We did that last year and we were able to sit with him.
