I know a lot of people are collecting new toys to hand out for Christmas, what about used toys? I know I can donate to Goodwill etc, but I'd rather them be given away not sold in a store. Do you know where I can give away my used toys to be given directly to kids?
Re: Places to donate used toys?
In Sacramento we have a program that supports women with children. They accept direct donations and they go straight to kids in need.
Do you guys have some place like that? I know there is the Samaritan House in San Mateo but outside of that I'm not familiar with Bay Area programs.
the bay area crisis nursery in concord is always in need to gently used toys
I called them about some baby gear and the passed on it all. I will try to give them a call about toys later today. I have a couple bags.
Otherwise, I have given most of our old toys away to local Mamas. Things that were broken or missing pieces I recycled.
their facilities aren't all that big so it's possible they turned down the gear since they don't have the space for it. toys i would imagine are always in need.
a women's shelter might be good... I'll be donating some clothes, etc to
