For the first 5.5 weeks my son would have a poopy diaper after just about every feeding. Then all the sudden a few days ago the amount significantly decreased to about 2 a day, and they are usually blow out, runny diapers versus the seedy diapers he was having before.
He's been much fussier the past couple days and I'm not sure if he's having stomach/constipation issues, or if he's just going through changes and a growth spurt since he's exactly 6 weeks old today. I know that poopy diapers can decrease as a baby's system's start to regulate more, but should it really happen so suddenly? I'm so confused.
Re: How many dirty diapers for 6wk old?
we're still on a diaper per feeding. today he had one of his worst blow outs yet.. i had to literally hose him down. probably b/c i changed his diaper in the car and didnt do it right. but yeah, mine is the same age and he's still pooping ever single feeding -i heard it's normal for that to change around this time tho.
it also could be a change in your diet. if you started eating something that might be making him constiped. check out what you're eating.
Our pedi said the in a breastfed baby, number of poopy diapers will drop to 1x per day after one month.
I have noticed a drop to 2x per day
