Stims & Constipation

Has anyone else experienced extreme constipation while stimming? Mine is horrible right now and I am looking for any and all suggestions to help me out in that department. TIA!!

  • Lots of high fiber veggies!  And I also ate some Quaker high fiber granola bars.  Totally helped.

  • I have the opposite problem on stims, but I get constipated from progesterone supps.

Eating two packets of quaker high fiber oatmeal in the morning and drinking a ton of water helped me.

    GL!

  • Funny, (but not really) I am having the exact same problem right now. This never happens to me so I know it is from the stims.

I hope you find relief soon. I have only tried metamucil so far.

  • I don't know how bad it is, but in extreme cases, consider and ask your doctor about:

    milk of magnesia

    colace

    dolcolax

    mirilax

    ex-lax

    magnesium citrate

    fleet enema

If you think you have an impaction, it's important to tell your doctor and you can get it taken care of ASAP!   Feel better soon.

  • I wasn't constipated during stims before, but definitely after the ER.  If the fruits and other fiber things don't work for you, you might want to try Peri-Colace or Milk of Magnesia, both worked really well for me.  Hope you find some relief soon!
  • Those fiber 1 bars work wonders.

  • This might sound strange but try a cup of hot water with about 2 tbsp of lemon juice - sounds bizarre but it worked for me.  Prunes and corn usually do the trick for me as well.
TTC #1 w/ endo since Sept 2005. After many losses, a lap, tons of meds and tons of testing and, one failed IVF cycle, we were blown away with a surprise, sticky BFP...it's a girl!!! Lilypie Second Birthday tickers
