Nurseries and Baby Gear

Will you help me pick green paint for the nursery?

We want to paint the nursery green, but can't decide on a color. Here's the bedding:

We're trying to find paint we like. We're thinking either Behr Water Sprout or Behr Spirit Whisper. Has anyone used either of these colors? Do you know of another green that would look nice?

  • I would go out and get 4-5 different paint samples in the greens you are considering and then paint them on the wall to see how it looks in the room. We did this and the chip color looked so much different after painting it on the wall - I don't think I would have ever chosen the color I did from the chip alone (it looked more grey in the chip - but blue on the wall.

  • We have willow wind by valspar (lowe's paint) in our kitchen and nursery.  It is about the color in that picture...maybe a little more mellow.  I love it though.
  • Do what we did. We took our bedding set to home depot. They have a machine that color matched the paint to the green in our bedding. Matches perfectly!
  • I would definately do as pp said and try a few samples. Colours can look hugely different depending on the light in the room.

  • We used Behr Water Sprout and we love it!  We get compliments on it all the time!
  • Thanks for the suggestions!

  • we used behr water sprout and it came out the exact color in that link. I'd recommend getting a couple samples though to try them out since it might look different in your room based on how much light you get.
  • We are painting DD's room tomorrow and are using Behr Celery Bunch.  I liked it a lot when we tried a sample, but I'm anxious to see the whole room painted that color.  I'll let you know how it turns out!
