I had a successful pregnancy at 33, but now at 36, have had 3 losses. We met with a genetic specialist that said that until the age of 41, our chances of miscarriage are no greater than a women in her twenties (less than 2% increase). Just curious what is your age and the number of miscarriages you have had. Also, if you want to share the reason if known.
I am 36 and 1st miscarriage was a chemical pregnancy, 2nd was a twin miscarriage due to trisomy 16
Re: your age and miscarriage
I'm 25...1st "unofficial" m/c was CP in 12/08 (was lost prior to official testing, so dr doesn't recognize it as a loss), 2nd m/c was 3 wks ago. I am so sorry for your losses.

First off, I want to say I am sorry for your losses.
I was really young when I had my DS who is now 9 y/o I was 17 when I had him in 2000 with no problems.
Then in Feb. 2009 I had my first miscarrige, not sure what happen with that, i was 4 weeks, never got a determination of the cause, just told it happens, and mightve been a chemical pregnancy, I was 25.
Then on Nov. 10th, 2009 at age 26 I had my second miscarrige at 18wks 2days with my DS Joel. I had an abrupted placenta with a rip/tear in the lower portion of it, and was told that miscarrige possibilities were very high with the problems i was having, had been on very restricted bedrest since 15wks 2days.
Missed m/c-22 years old
I became pregnant again at 22 and delivered DS at 23.
2 natural m/c and another missed m/c-26 years old
I don't know what the causes were. I know with my last pregnancy, everything was normal structurally. The doctor declined doing a chromosomal analysis. I am now waiting for my bloodwork to come back to determine if there is an underlying issue. I am also probably going to go against my OB's advice and seek the help of an RE.
My OB doesn't think there is a problem because I've had a successful pregnancy. I think he is being too conservative though, which is why I will likely seek the help of an RE.
I am 30 and had m/c 9/09 @ 5.5 weeks and another m/c Nov 26 @ 7 weeks, dont know why, my re said it happens but i didt have some testing come back with 2 mutations of MTHFR 1 copy of each and im waiting for other test results.
Im sorry for your loss and gl in the future!

29, first (and only thus far) pregnancy, missed m/c at 7.5 weeks. Waiting for the chromosomal testing to come back and see where we go from there.
I'm so grateful that my insurance covers testing and that my doc is willing to do it even though I'm "young" and it's a first loss.

I'm so sorry for your losses.
I'm 32, DH is 31 & this is our first pregnancy & loss. Missed m/c found at 9w6d. I'm still really ticked off that my OB wouldn't do further testing to find out why.
I had some tissue pass during AF last July when I was on BCP, which still haunts me, but no one else seems to think it's a big deal & my OB said that my risk of m/c again is no different than if I'd never m/c'ed.
1st m/c- 29 yrs old

DH and I are both 33 now(will both be 34 in April) and currently not TTC. We don't think we are going to try again....Looking into adoption....
