poll: swear words

what do you consider swear words?  besides the obvious?

damn = yes
crap= no
hell = yes

what else?

    Well, I wouldn't want my kids to say any of those, but I would say crap and hell are worse than damn.

    damn=yes

    crap=no for me, yes for DS

    hell=depends on the context.  If I"m speaking of Hell as the place, no, if I"m saying "what the hell was that?"...yes.

    Depends on the situation/who says it. I think sucks can be and ass...I was never allowed to say shut up or butt growing up.

    I think if you can say it on TV - netowrk tv at 7pm - then it isn't a swear word.

    BUT...I wouldn't want DD to say crap either.

    Ditto this. My DH and I are in an ongoing debate about whether it's OK for DD to say butt. I say no, and I will win!

    I think all of those words are crass, though not necessarily curses, and I don't want DD to say any of them.

    I'm totally guilty of saying "oh God" all.the.time and DD has now picked up on it. I'm trying really hard to correct my language and say "oh my gosh" instead. We just go the library book "Oh my gosh, Mrs. McNosh" as part of my language modification program.

    I think there are words that kids shouldn't say. Crap is one of them.
