Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Intro - Not sure where I fit in here (child pic/ticker in sig)

Wow, I haven't posted on this board in a loong time. Strange to be back.

So, I'm Gwyneth. In October I had my second loss - it was a missed m/c discovered at 14 weeks. I had my first loss in May 2007 - that was also a missed m/c, that one at 10 weeks. I went on to have a healthy boy in 2008, who I adore.

Anyway, I've been feeling pretty isolated lately. I used to post on the PAL board, but it's filling up with women having their second babies, and all the BFPs are just kind of getting to me. I am having a harder time with this loss, and I don't really know why.

AF just started, and we are going to start trying again (as soon as DH gets home from a trip), but I don't really feel comfortable on the TTCAL board either, since it seems like everyone there knows each other already. So I think I will hang here for a little bit, if that's OK with you guys.

  • Of course you fit in here (unfortunately).  {{hugs}}

    TTCAL is actually very welcoming.  They do all "know" each other, but I've just jumped in there in the last couple of days and I was greeted with open arms.  As long as your only post isn't rubbing a BFP in their faces, they'll love you as one of their own, because that's what you are.  Sadly, we're all members of the crappiest sorority on earth.
  • I'm very sorry for your losses.

    I really like TTCAL...I just started posting there a couple weeks ago and already feel like I've been there quite some time. Everyone is really nice and supportive, so when you are ready, make an introduction and let everyone get to know you. Until then, I think it's perfectly fine for your to hang out here.

  • I am so sorry for your losses.  You have a very handsome little man there!

    I hope that you can connect with others here (and on any other boards you want, for that matter) to help you not feel alone or isolated.  Good luck ttc!

  • Of course you're welcome here, but as other posters have said, TTCAL is very welcoming.  I wouldn't do a flyby BFP in the next few weeks when you haven't been posting there, but other than that, they'll take you in.  I'm new to all of these sad groups, but that one is more uplifting than pl.  It gives me hope for the future.  I also like to lurk on PAL and dream about being there someday.

  • I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope you feel welcome here. Often times I feel lost on these boards myself and end up taking breaks. I've had two losses but prior to the losses I had two, healthy & uneventful pregnancies. I am still grieving my losses but at the same time feeling hopeful that now DH and I can move forward and try again.?

  • Hey Gwyn, big hugs to you.
  • Hey Gwyneth...just wanted to give you big hugs also.  I'm almost a year out from my most recent loss and I'm still not sure where I belong half the time.
