Craptastic. His weight shifted again.

He was born in the 75th%. Slipped to the 10% because of reflux. We got him back up to the 50% by the time he was 6 month. We just had him at the pedi and he's back into the 20%. Little dude just will.not.eat. enough. Pedi wants us to discuss it with his gastro, which we'll do at his appt next month. UGH. I never thought not being chubby enouh would be MY kid's problem.

    Sorry to hear it's been such a yo-yo.  At least there are Dr's out there to help and they know what the problem is!

    Just a guess, but did he recently start crawling? MOST babies drop % once they start getting a lot more active. Birth weight percentages are not indicative of what a child's normal growth pattern will be. As long as his head is growing and he's getting taller (and obviously he IS gaining weight, albeit slowly) then very often, the child is fine. Obviously if you feel worried then go ahead with the testing. But not all kids are meant to be in the upper percentages, kwim?

    I wouldn't worry at all, but his weight loss seems to cooincide more with an increase in his spitting up/refulx than with crawling. Plus, the pedi has me worried. But I guess that's his job, right? Tell me to see the speicalist, who tells me he's fine. :)
