and what is he thinking--it's bad enough to cheat on your wife--but when she just recently had a baby.... you're asking for a golf club to the head!

ETA: I know those aren't real injuries, but the idea behind it is what I don't find funny, I guess.

maybe I'm wrong here, but I don't know that I would be thinking too sanely with a newborn and a cheating husband. I feel sorry more sorry for her.
It really is a double standard, but I will say I don't know what I would do if my DH humiliated me in such a public way. Probably not beat his ass. I think I might throw his vintage record player through his Mercedes window though!
ETA: Oh yeah I live in a 50/50 state... I think I would take him for all he is worth?!

Unfortunately for Elin, she lives in an equitable distribution state, and probably signed a pre-nup, too.
On one hand, I feel badly for her. On the other, I wonder if she knew for awhile he was cheating [some of the reports are from years ago!], but turned a blind eye b/c he kept it private. Now she's pissed b/c it's all over the news, not b/c he cheated on her. Although with 2 young kids, maybe she was completely unaware and busy w/ them. I guess he probably does travel a lot w/out her...thus giving him the opportunity to pull one over on her. I'm rambling...

There's NO excuse for cheating....ever. But to cheat on your wife while she's pregnant and carry on an affair for over a year is like a big ol' F YOU to his wife. I'm sorry, I'd take hisass to the cleaners and change the locks!

Kind of sad/scary that she won't be held accountable for some very scary behavior.
I think it's been reported that his injuries were not consistent with his wreck. If the airbags did not deploy, he didn't really have much speed going. The assumptions I've heard, based on the evidence are that she was hitting him with the golf club and that when he got in the car to drive, he may have been a little delirious and thus, wrecked at low speed.
It just doesn't add up to much of anything else, based on the facts of the accident.
ETA: I am not saying Tiger is guiltless in this whole situation. But it is a scary thing to think that cheating on a woman makes it ok for her to react in such a violent way. There are small kids involved here and it worries me for their sake as well.
tiger's not being honest about that then. he is also at fault for lying for her if he is in fact worried about the safety of his children. he said she "rescued him" from the wreck.
who knows what happened. my guess is--the whole thing came out--she was livid, chased him down with the golf club and beat him with it, then he tried to drive away and crashed.
I really wonder if there is a concern for the kid's safety, (personally I don't think there is--but what do I know-I don't know these people) or if this was just an isolated and very emotionally-charged one-time incident.
I agree with this. I don't know anything about this whole thing. I haven't been paying attention to the news. But, it is pretty hypocritical that when Chris Brown beat Rhianna he got a tongue lashing by everyone (which he should), but there are people who are making light of what Tiger's wife may have done saying he got what was coming to him. For all we knew at the time the news of Rhianna broke, it could have been the exact same situation between them only the man was the one doing the beating.
Honestly, in general, I am NOT a fan of the temporary insanity plea however, if ever there was a situation that it would be considered, this would be it.
I would not fear for her children. I don't think, even if she did beat him, that it means she is a rageful, violent person. I think she might have had a temp lapse of judgement --- after all, her husband was cheating on her while she was pregnant/home with their infant.
This theory doesn't hold much water for the investigators because why would someone hear a crash and come running out with a golf club to bash in the back window, when she could've just opened the door and dragged him out?
I think it is all speculation at this point.
It all seems fishy.
There was probably a quarrel in the house. She probably did chase him out of the house with the golf club. He could have smacked his face on the steering wheel and received some minor injuries.
The kids could have been asleep (stressing could).
I don't know, I'd prefer a baseball bat.

and NO--I don't think it's RIGHT to beat your spouse. can't say how I would react with the news that she got... but no, it's not right to beat him down.

I may not do it, but I know my brothers would beat the shitttt out of MH if they found out. Our sperm donor cheated on our mother, and my brothers told MH before we got married that an ass beating would be in order if he ever did that, LOL.
I can see losing my shittt on MH if he did cheat on me, and threatening him with ball damage.
In some strange way, it's like he's trying to cover for her. But, that might've been his approach before all the new info about his affair(s).
